Heavy investments in labor and capital resulting in high yields and profits

Commonly labor and animal intensive to meet immediate needs through lots of effort

Few inputs and less effort to meet immediate needs

Low amounts of inputs but has the goal of selling the product for profit

Subsistent extensive agriculture practiced in arid climates, move with herds

Subsistent extensive farming where when the current soil loses fertility, farmers move to another field

Large commercial farm specializing in one crop

Intensive commercial integrated system that demonstrates an interdependence between crops and animals
