Smoke/Fumes - RAF
26.01 A 4 Nov 19
Immediate actions:
- Crew OXY Mask -USE /100%/EMER
- Crew - Alert/Acknowledge
- PAX Masks pb - Deploy As required
- Signs - Check On
Subsequent actions:
- Passengers - Brief
Note: If Smoke/Fumes become the greatest threat expect/request the REMOVAL OF SMOKE/FUMES procedure. Once the REMOVAL OF SMOKE/FUMES procedures is complete ensure the SMOKE/FUMES drill is continued.
- Smoke/Fumes Source - Identify and inform crew
- Hazard Source - Isolate if possible
- Fire Fighting - Perform
WARNING: PBE should be activated below 10,000 ft cabin altitude. Once activated, PBE can be employed up to 25,000 ft cabin altitude.
a. PBE/O2 Bottle - Don As Required
b. Heat Protection Vest - Don As Required
c. Fire Hood - Don As Required
d. Fireproof Gloves - Don As Required
e. Portable Fire Extinguisher - Use As Required
f. Fire Axe -Use as required
Where possible, ensure effective communications are maintained with the pilots and other crew members.
- Cargo Hold Status - Inform Crew

FLIGHT CREW ANNOUNCEMENT - ACKNOWLEDGE
CARGO CREWMEMBER(S) - ADVISE
EMERGENCY LIGHTS - CHECK ON
IF PASSENGERS ON BOARD:
PASSENGERS - CHECK SEATED/FASTEN
IF THE CARGO AREA IS AFFECTED:
FLIGHT CREW ADVICE - ACKNOWLEDGE
CREW OXY MASKS - AS RQRD
SMOKE/FUMES REMOVAL - CHECK
CARGO AREA STATUS - REPORT
APU FIRE - RAF
26.03 4 NOV 19
No Flt Deck Crew on-board:
- Evacuation - Order
Once on the Flt Deck:
- APU - Confirm Auto APU Shutdown commenced
- APU Fire bottle - Confirm discharged
- ECAM (APU Master) - OFF
- ATC - Inform
Note: CM 1 position should be utilised in the event Ext power is not available.
- External power (if available) - OFF
- Battery power - OFF
- Evacuation - Confirm complete (complete evacuation on ground procedure MISC.01A)
- GPU - OFF
- Nose wheel chocks - Insert (If practicable)
Flt Deck on-board:
- Flight Crew announcement - Acknowledge
If Flight Deck Crew unable to shut down APU:
- GRN EMER - OFF
- Evacuation (if ordered)- Conduct
Complete evacuation on ground procedure.
