Why might people being embarrassed of having HIV aid spread of disease
Some people may either have no idea they have disease or do not tell sexual partners
Name 4 types of physical barriers that can influence spread of disease both positively + negatively and describe how
Remoteness
+ No outside contact reducing risk of catching disease or spreading to outside community
- Hard to reach areas reduce access for aid workers and supplies = can take weeks
Relief
+ Stop spread of disease vectors through change in temps
- Difficult to access and reduces communication
Natural hazards
+ Restrict movement of people reducing spread and heavy winds can destroy vector habitats
- Homes/Hospitals destroyed , people in close proximity poor sanitation camps and contamination of water supply’s leading to water borne diseases
Excess water - rivers ,seas or floods
+ improve access to medical support via ships
- stagnant water leads to water borne diseases or could provide breeding ground for mosquitoes

2001-2013 Globally - percentage
35% lower
How did global governments in ACs educate against HIV in 1980s
Media campaigns = very effective in normalising HIV
How does the WHO help in the battle against HIV
Monitors cases globally + helps coordinate medical supplies and ARVs ( anti-retroviral) to treat HIV
