Evaluating the success of urban re-branding - Plymouth
In 2014 government signed a city deal to bring millions of pounds of investment in creating 1200 jobs. Was given £670,000 to deal with damage to the coastal areas from WW2.
Actual evaluation of the success of Plymouth -
Successful with inward investment. Has 25 major owned manufacturing companies in Plymouth employing more than 12,000 people. Local MP also suggests that the city provides new people with opportunities. With poor transport connections for residents as it takes just less than 6 hours to get to London.
Other evaluation of the city -
Still huge inequality in the city, where 90% of the houses are in council tax which reflect lower wages and aspirations.
