What is the role of national government?
- Consider the levels of inequality across the country

What are examples of current infrastructure projects the government is investing in?

What are the benifits of HS2?
- Improved Journey times between major cities. E.g London to Birmingham travel time will be cut)
- 60000 construction jobs created
Problems with HS2
- The planned route will pass through AONB
- No intermediate stations so areas surrrounding the railway wouldn’t benifit from the project
How do national and local governmetn interact on large scale projects?
National goverment can override local governments planning laws inorder to enable national economic development.
For example national government can approve fracking despite local oppersition
How has migration policy affected the UK?
An open door policy lead to a rapid population increase, bringing new buissness and economic growth
How has government deregulation help economic growth?
Deregulation allowed for foreign ivestment into the UK property market. This fueled regeneration as large amounts of money couyld be made. E.g. building high end flats on old industrial sites
