4.5.1.1 Scalar and Vector Quantities Flashcards
1
Q
Vector:
A
Vector quantities have both magnitude (size) and an associated direction.
2
Q
Scalar:
A
Scalar quantities only have a magnitude (size).
3
Q
How are vector quantities represented?
A
- a vector quantity may be represented by an arrow
- the length of the arrow represents the magnitude, and the direction of the arrow is the direction of the vector quantity
