Benefits of traing employees for business

A

-Staff productivity depends on skill of the staff, the machines avalable and the efficiency of management.
-Investment in staff training can result in an increasebin long-term productivity
-As staff ar better trained and get good at making products they will produce more
-Training staff will help them to understand that the new technology in a business is an imporvement
-Training can help staff to get comfortablr with technology and understand how it makes their work lives easier
-Help reduce resistance to change in organisation
Training staff shows commitment tk their future in business
-motivate employees and also reduce the rate at which employees leave business
-reduction in recruitement costs
-cost reduction will have impact on profit
-some jobs are very highly skilled which requires skills that cannot be learnt in an afternoon.
-e.g bricklayers,electricians,plumber
-the more training that staff recieve in skilled jobs mean that they will be able to produce higher quality goods.
-customer service may be what gives the business its edge
-training employees is important to guve correct levels lf customer service
-in highly competitive market having good customer service can have an impact on sales and therefore profit

What is induction training

A

Happens when an employee starts working for a new business. It may involve training on how to use fire extinguisher, or shown round the building, or introduced to colleagues. What is involved in the training will vary depending on the business and job role. Will help the systems and procedure in business. Will increase employee productivity.

A

Coaching or mentoring while doing the job. Assistance and advice is provided by those more experienced to those less experienced. May include work shadowing or learning to use specific machind

Advanatges and disadvantages of on-the-job training

A

Advantages–specific training needed for the job (a full time trainer may noy know all jobs methods to an up to date standard)
-cheaper than sending an employee to a training centre
-leafning can be put in to use immediately
-trainees can see relevance ti job more clearly when skilld are taught in workplace

Disadvantages–taking time away frim teaching employee job
-reduces efficiency of both teaching worker and new employee
-workers which are badly trained may make expensive mistakes or be a safety hazard

A

Involves work at home of courses st company training centre/colleges. Learning through demonstartion talks and lectures. May also be practical courses to learn ICT company.

Advantages and disadvantages of off-the-job training

A

Advantages–more focused environment less distractions
-increases worker motivationes as they feel valued by company to have money spent on their improvement
-Less stressful compared with on the job
-Individual teachings the courses are trained to train

Disadvantages–more expensive than on-the-job training
-employees may fail to see link between training and workplace
-employees are taken away from production so the business loses their productivity for that day
