Hostage Situation
AUTHORITY
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office
JSO shall have command and control for all situations that involve ____ subjects and/or hostage situations.
JSO has ultimate responsibility for the incident. This includes the following:
• Inner and outer perimeters
• Crowd and traffic control
• Support activities
JFRD
JFRD responsibilities include the following:
• Treatment and transport of the injured
• Extinguishment of fires
• Clearing structures of smoke and chemical agents upon the request of ___
• Rescuing subjects on bridges or other high-angle structures
• Providing and, if necessary, operating auxiliary lighting, ladders, forcible
entry tools, PPV fans, and SCBA when requested

Staging
Company Officers and crew shall stay with the apparatus and not leave unless directed by the IC.
All radio traffic will be limited to essential transmissions.
JFRD personnel will ensure that all equipment is functional and ready for quick response.
JFRD personnel will remain alert for instructions from Command.
JFRD personnel ordered to report to the inner perimeter for functions other than EMS shall wear full structural PPE.
COMMAND
General
The Suppression District Chief will contact JSO Command, and may confer with other JFRD Officers on-scene to formulate an appropriate JFRD tactical response.
A JFRD liaison with a radio may be provided to the JSO in order to facilitate communications.

RESPONSE
Dispatch
FRCC will gather as much information as possible regarding the incident and communicate it to responding companies.
En-Route
All units will respond in a ___-____ status.

Arrival
The first-arriving unit will stage at an appropriate location. The Company Officer will report to ___ for instructions while the rest of the crew remains with the apparatus. This Company Officer will also direct incoming units to the ___ Area.

Special Operations Team
The Special Operations Team will be dispatched to all incidents involving ___- ___ situations.
