- gymnosperms use male and female cones to produce
- male cone are smaller and are located on the bottom of the tree
- female cones are larger and they grow at the top of the tree
- this encourages the pollen from other trees to come and fertalize the female cones rather then the laoe. ones fertalizing themselves
