A policy is a set of rules or guidelines that help guide decisions and actions in an organization or government.

1930s smoking
-It was acceptable
-It was glamorousised and encouraged for relaxation and relieving stress

-There was a big spike in lung disease amd heart disease linked to smoking
-Realised it was bad for you
Smoking 2000- present
-Health was valued and attitudes started to change
-Tobacco Advertising and Promotion Act 2002 ~Banned advertising and promotion of tobacco
-The Health Act 2006~ Prohibits smoking in enclosed and public spaces
-Children and Families Act 2014~ Enable the government to implement change to people smoking in vehicles with children in the car
