41st Smart Book Flashcards
Slipstream Effect
Thrust Generated by the propeller that creates a corkscrew slipstream that strikes the wing root fuselage and tail surfaces
P-Factor
Effect of Propeller- AOA is higher on the downward blade than the upward blade causing the A/C to yaw left
Torque
Torque Reaction acts opposite the direction of propeller rotation. (T-6 tends to roll to the left when power is increased, Right when power is decreased)
Gyroscopic Effect
When a force is applied to displace a spinning mass, the force acts on a plane 90 degrees from which it is applied
Adverse Yaw
Tendency of an A/C to yaw away from the direction of aileron input
