- 13 million visitors
- 650 employed, as well as supporting 3000 related jobs.
- Encouraged wider investment by the South West.
What are the costs of the Eden Project?
- Huge people means traffic
- Also means huge amount of litter and pollution
- Increase in population not ideal for people who moved there for the tranquil atmosphere.
What is a disadvantage the Eden project faced?
- Geographical location (rural area)
This meant that there was a lower population density, therefore less people to attract from.
- Also low number of working age population.
How can businesses receive more funding?
Convergence funding - aim to raise funding in rural areas, which may include matching funding.
