Systematic Desensitization
a person images a very weak form of frightening CS while engaging in relaxation exercises
Aversion Therapy
a stimulus (that’s become a CS) which causes what is considered to be undersirable conditioned response is paired with a very unpleasant US
Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy
Allows interaction with feared stimuli without being in real danger
Conditioned Taste Aversion
when a food becomes a CS for illness & its associated symptoms (e.g. nausea)
How do advertisements pair with classical conditioning?
Advertisement regularly pair product with stimuli that reliably elicit positive emotions
Cobranding
pairing a new product with an already successful one OR pairing competing brands with stimuli that would be considered negative
Prejudice
-tendency to prejudge without all relevant info
