4- Measurement Flashcards
Artifact
The result of something gone wrong due to the way that the behavior was measured.
Celeration
count/ time/ time
the rate of a behavior over time.
Count
The frequency of a behavior, how many times it happens.
Discrete Trial
touch nose
A process for teaching new skills, that involves breaking the skills up into smaller manageable steps, and repetitively working on it until the set mastery.
Duration
The amount of time that passes from the onset to the offset of a behavior.
Event Recording
Documenting the number of times a behavior occurs within a given period of time.
Free Operant
Behavior that is learned naturally in the environment, where we come into free contact with reinforcement or punishment.
Frequency
Simple count of behavior.
IRT
Inter-response time, the time it takes between one response and the start of the next response.
Latency
The amount of time it takes between the presentation of a stimulus or prompt and the response.
Magnitude
How intense the behavior is.
Measurement
The collection of quantitative or qualitative information.
Measurement of Permanent Product
The collection of information by how it physically effects the environment.
Momentary Time Sampling
Recording whether a behavior occurs at a specific moment in time.
Partial Interval Recording
Recording whether a behavior occurs, if it occurs at any moment during a given interval.
Percentage
rule of thumb: at least 30 trials to qualify for a percentage.
Recording how many times out of 100, the behavior occurred.
PLACHECK
Recording how many participants are engaging in a behavior within a group, at a given moment in time.
Rate
Frequency or count, over time.
Repeatability
frequency and rate
Instances of behavior that can be repeated, and counted because they repeat in time. AKA countability.
Temporal Extent
duration
How long a behavior takes, what is the duration?
#extended stay hotel
Temporal Locus
Instances of behavior that occur in time in relation to another behavior, and the location of response based on time.
Latency OR IRT
Time Sampling
glimpse of behavior
Observing behavior at a specific moment in time.
Topography
What the behavior looks like, what is the form of the behavior?
Trials to Criterion
Required trials for mastery.
Whole Interval Recording
Recording whether a behavior occurs, if it occurs during the entire given interval.
