Tentments:
Small one room apartments for working class families. Often viral filled and unsanitary, living there was a struggle and many people would rent out to boarder who were often off the street to make a little extra money.
Cable Cars, Elevators:
(1) Cable cars were first installed in San Fran, and were a replacement for the horsecar. They were like trolleys pulled by long, steel cables through cities.
(2) The Elevator helped the growth of city’s as to access sky scrapers you would no longer need to take flights and flights of stairs.
Elements of a Skyscraper:
A Skyscraper had frames and pillars made out of steel. This caused the buildings to be much much stronger, as before they were only held up by walls.
Class System:
Upper: Had luxury’s and opulence. Spent a lot of money on social events and made a great deal of flaunting their wealth and lived in mansions.
Middle: Had enough money to buy a nice house farther outside of the city, or in suburbs. Had enough money for maybe one servant.
Lower: The working class, and had almost all or definitely more than one family member working. Often could not pay for basic needs.
