A condition in which a person experiences a clash in opposing wishes or needs. The belief that opposing views, goals or beliefs are incompatible can result in conflict

Name and explain the three types of resolving conflict.

A
  • Imposed solutions: the solution is controlled, leads to one side winning and the conflict is unresolved leaving the other party dissatisfied
  • Distributive solutions: a compromise/mutual decision where both parties come to a middle decision
  • Integrative solutions: win-win situation where both sides benefit, difficult to do, need to understand each party, focus on motives rather than explicit demands
