- Are able to think in abstract ways
- Can talk about a wide range of topics
- Can be reluctant to new teaching methods
- Have a memory of learning success/failure
- Usually behave well in class, and Can keep working if they are bored

- Are starting to think in abstract ways
- Are passionate about things they like
- Are energetic and creative but some times they misbehave (discipline problems)
- Don’t like to be treated as children.
- Need peer approval (not teacher’s)

- Naturally curious and take information from everything around them.
- Need loads of very proficient exposure.
- Find abstract concepts difficult to understand.
- Develop at different rates.
- Learn best when they are in the ZPD.

A
- Change activities frequently
- Combine learning and play
- Use age-appropriate activities
- Make the classroom an attractive and safe environment.
- Be the best pronunciation model you can be

- Use student’s own schemata as much as possible (find out what interests student’s individuals)
- Be prepared to explain grammar rules (while encouraging discovery)
- Discuss best learning methods
- Provide short-term goals (for a sense of success)

- Treat them like adults
- Be consistent and firm with discipline
- Do not embarrass them
- Encourage them to think critically and take responsibility for their learning (agency)
