3.8 Electrical Power Systems Flashcards
3.8.1 AC Sources Operating
The following AC Sources shall be Operable
A. 2 qualified offsite circuits
B. 2 DGs
C. 1 U1/2 offsite circuit able to support ESW
D. U1/2 DG able to support ESW
Modes 1, 2, 3, and 4
Note: U1/2 elec sources in c and d not required to be op when ESW is inop
A. 1 req offsite source inop
A.1 Perform offsite source checks - 1 hr
B. 1 req DG inop
B.1 Verify both supp DGs are avail - 1 hr
B.2 Peform offsite source checks - 1 hr
H. 3 or more req AC sources inop
H.1 LCO 3.0.3 - Immediately
3.8.2 AC Sources - Shutdown
The following AC source shall be Operable
A. 1 offsite circuit to power equipment required by LCO 3.8.10
B. 1 DG to power equipment required by LCO 3.8.10
Mode 5 and 6
During fuel moves in ctmnt, aux build, and U2 ctmnt
A. Required offsite source inop
A.1 Declare affected required features with no offsite power avail inop
OR
A.2.1 Suspend core alts and
A.2.2 Suspend fuel moves and
A.2.3 Suspend pos react adds
A.2.4 Initiate action to restore offsite circ
B. Required DG inop
B.1 Suspend core alts and
B.2 Suspend fuel moves and
B.3 Suspend pos react adds
B.4 Initiate action to restore offsite circ
All action Immediately
3.8.3 Diesel Fuel Oil
Stored diesel fuel oil subsystem shall be within limits for each required DG
When DG required to be operable
D. Required action and comp time not met or 1 or more DG with fuel oil not within limits for reasons other than Cond A, B, or C
D.1 Declare associated DG inop - Immediately
3.8.3 DC Sources - Operating
The following electrical power subsystems shall be operable
A. Trn A and B 250 VDC elec pwr
B. Trn N 250 VDC elec pwr
C. U1/2 Trn A and B 250 VDC capable of supporting ESW
Modes 1, 2, 3, and 4
Note: Trn N not required in Mode 4
D. Train N inop
D.1 Declare TDAFP inop - Immediately
E. 1 or both U1/2 Trn A and B elec pwr inop
E.1 Declare associated ESW inop - Immediately
3.8.5 DC Sources - Shutdown
One Trn A or B 250 VDC elec pwr subsystem shall be operable to support required by LCO 3.8.10
Mode 5 and 6
During fuel moves in ctmnt, aux building, and U1/2 ctmnt
A. Required DC elec pwr subsystem inop
A.1 Suspend core alts and
A.2 Suspend fuel moves and
A.3 Suspend pos react adds and
A.4 Initiate action to restore required DC
All actions immediately
3.8.6 Battery Parameters
Battery parameters for Trn A, B, N, and U1/2 Trn A and B shall be within limits
When associated DC elec pwr subsystems required to be operable
F. Required action and comp time of Cond A, B, C, D, or E not met or 1 or more batt float volt <2.07 V and float current > 2 amps or SR 3.8.6.6 not met.
F.1 Declare associated batt inop - immediately
3.8.7 Inverters - Operating
The Train A and B inverters shall be Operable
Modes 1, 2, 3, and 4
3.8.8 Inverters - Shutdown
2 inverters shall be operable to support 1 train of 120 VAC required by LCO 3.8.10
Mode 5 and 6
During fuel moves in ctmnt, aux build, and U1/2 ctmnt
A. 1 or more required inverters inop
A.1 Suspend core alts and
A.2 Suspend fuel moves
A.3 Suspend pos reac adds
A.4 Initiate action to restore inv
All actions immediately
3.8.9 - Distribution Systems Operating
The following power dist subsystems shall be operable
A. Trn A and B AC elec dist systems
B. Trn A and B 120 VAC vital bus
C. Trn A and B 250 VDC elct dist
D. Trn N 250 VDC elct dist
E. U1/2 Trn A and B elct dist and 250 VDC elect dist required to support ESW
Modes 1, 2, 3, and 4
Note:
Trn N not required in Mode 4
E. Req Trn N inop
E.1 Declare TDAFP inop - Immediately
F. 1 or more req U1/2 elect dist inop
F.1 Declare associated ESW trn inop - Immediately
G. 2 or more elec dist systems that cause loss of safety func
G.1 Enter LCO 3.0.3 - Immediately
3.8.10 Distribution System - Shutdown
Necessary portions of AC, DC, and 120 VAC vital bus systems shall be operable to support equipment required to be operable
Modes 5 and 6
During fuel moves in ctmnt, aux build, and U1/2 ctmnt
A. 1 or more req AC, DC, or 120 VAC vital bus elect pwr dist systems inop
A.1 Declare assoc supported required features inop OR
A.2.1. Suspend core alts and
A.2.2 Suspend fuel moves and
A.2.3. Suspend pos reac adds and
A.2.4 Init actions to restore req pwr and
A2.5 Declare assoc req RHR inop and not in operation
