3.8.1 DC Sources - OPERATING
Division A, B, C, and D Class 1E DC power subsystems OPERABLE
APPLICABILITY: MODES 1 - 4
ACTIONS
A. One or more battery chargers in ONE division INOP
A.1 Restore battery terminal voltage ≥ minimum float voltage within 6 hours AND
A.2 Verify battery float current ≤ 2 amps 1x/24 hours. AND
A.3 Restore charger(s) to OPERABLE within 7 days
B. One or more battery chargers in TWO divisions INOP
B.1 Restore battery terminal voltage ≥ minimum float voltage within 2 hours AND
B.2 Verify battery float current ≤ 2 amps 1x/24 hours. AND
B.3 Restore charger(s) to OPERABLE within 7 days
C. One or more batteries in ONE division INOP, restore to OPERABLE within 6 hours.
D. One or more batteries in TWO divisions INOP, restore to OPERABLE within 2 hours.
E. One DC subsystem INOP other than A and C, restore within 6 hours.
F. Two DC subsystems INOP other than B and D, restore within 2 hours.
G. Required action and completion time not met, MODE 3 within 6 hours and MODE 5 within 36 hours.
3.8.2 DC Sources - Shutdown
DC subsystems shall be OPERABLE to support DC distribution required by LCO 3.8.6
APPLICABILITY: MODES 5 and 6 and during movement of irradiated fuel assemblies
NOTE - 3.0.3 is not applicable
ACTIONS
A. One or more required battery chargers in ONE division INOP
A.1 Restore battery terminal voltage ≥ minimum float voltage within 6 hours AND
A.2 Verify battery float current ≤ 2 amps 1x/24 hours. AND
A.3 Restore charger(s) to OPERABLE within 72 hours
B. One or more required DC subsystems INOP
B.1 Declare affected required features INOP IMMEDIATELY OR
B.2.1 Suspend Movement of irradiated fuel IMMEDIATELY AND
B.2.2 Suspend OPDRVs IMMEDIATELY AND
B.2.3 Suspend operations involving positive reactivity additions IMMEDIATELY AND
B.2.4 Initiate action to restore the DC subsystems to OPERABLE IMMEDIATELY
3.8.3 Inverters - Operating
- NOTES -
One inverter may be disconnected from its associated DC bus for
≤ 72 hours to perform an equalizing charge on its associated battery,
providing:
1. The associated instrument and control bus is energized from its
Class 1E voltage regulating transformer; and
2. All other AC instrument and control buses are energized from their
associated OPERABLE inverters.

- NOTE - Enter applicable Conditions and Required Actions of LCO 3.8.5 “Distribution Systems – Operating” with any
instrument and control bus de-energized.

B. Required action and completion time not met, MODE 3 within 6 hours and MODE 5 within 36 hours
Inverters - Shutdown
Inverters shall be OPERABLE to support DC distribution required by LCO 3.8.6
APPLICABILITY: MODES 5 and 6 and during movement of irradiated fuel assemblies
NOTE - 3.0.3 is not applicable

A.1 Declare affected required features INOP IMMEDIATELY OR
A.2.1 Suspend Movement of irradiated fuel IMMEDIATELY AND
A.2.2 Suspend OPDRVs IMMEDIATELY AND
A.2.3 Suspend operations involving positive reactivity additions IMMEDIATELY AND
A.2.4 Initiate action to restore the Inverter(s) to OPERABLE IMMEDIATELY
3.8.5 Distribution Systems - Operating
Division A, B, C, and D electrical power distribution system shall be OPERABLE
a. DC and
b. AC instrument and control
APPLICABILITY: MODES 1 - 4
ACTIONS
A. One AC instrument and control division INOP, restore within 6 hours
B. One DC division INOP, restore within 6 hours
C. Two AC instrument and control divisions INOP, restore within 2 hours
D. Two DC divisions INOP, restore within 2 hours
E. Required action and completion time not met, be in MODE 3 within 6 hours and MODE 5 within 36 hours
F. Two inoperable divisions that result in a loss of safety function….ENTER 3.0.3 IMMEDIATELY
3.8.6 Distribution Systems - Shutdown
The necessary portions of DC and AC instrument and control electrical power distribution shall be OPERABLE to support equipment required to be OPERABLE
APPLICABILITY: MODES 5 and 6 and during movement of irradiated fuel assemblies
NOTE - 3.0.3 is not applicable
ACTIONS
A. One or more required DC or AC instrument and control electrical power distribution system INOP
A.1 Declare affected required features INOP IMMEDIATELY OR
A.2.1 Suspend Movement of irradiated fuel IMMEDIATELY AND
A.2.2 Suspend OPDRVs IMMEDIATELY AND
A.2.3 Suspend operations involving positive reactivity additions IMMEDIATELY AND
A.2.4 Initiate action to restore the required DC and AC instrument and control subsystem to OPERABLE IMMEDIATELY
3.8.7 Battery Parameters
Parameters within limits (Cell voltage ≥ 2.07 V, float current ≤ 2 amps, temp and electrolyte level)
APPLICABILITY: Whenever the DC electrical power sources are required to be OPERABLE.
ACTIONS
A. One or more batteries in one division with one or more battery cells float voltage < 2.07V
A.1 Verify battery terminal voltage is greater than or equal to the minimum established float voltage within 2 hours
A.2 Verify each battery float current is ≤ 2 amps. within 2 hours
A.3 Restore affected cell voltage ≥ 2.07 V within 24 hours
B. One or more batteries in one division with float current > 2 amps
B.1 Verify battery terminal voltage is greater than or equal to the minimum established float voltage within 2 hours
B.2 Restore battery float current to ≤ 2 amps.
C. One or more batteries in one division with one or more cells electrolyte level less than minimum
C.1 Restore level above top of plates within 8 hours and verify no evidence of leakage within 12 hours (if lower than top of plates)
C.3 Restore level greater than minimum limits within 31 days.
D. One or more batteries in one division with pilot cell electrolyte temp < minimum, restore within 12 hours
E. One or more batteries in two or more divisions with parameters not within limits, restore within 2 hours
F. Required action and completion time not met OR One or more batteries in one division with one or more battery cells float voltage <2.07 V AND current > 2 amps…DECLARE battery INOP IMMEDIATELY
