3.1 Chemical Measurements Flashcards

1
Q

What is the law of conservation of mass?

A

No atoms are lost or made during a chemical reaction

Mass of products = Mass of reactants

(number of atoms of each element on both sides must be the exact same)

Q

What is relative formula mass?

A

Sum of relative atomic masses of atoms shown in the formula

e.g. HCl

Mr= 1 +35.5 =36.5
