English groups of ships prepared for war commanded by the English Kirke Brothers captured 4 of the colonies ships with 400 colonists aboard.
Why did they line ships across the St Lawrence River?
To block ships from bringing in materials, food and supplies into Quebec City.

What did they do when capturing the city?
English forces took all of the warehoused furs and took control of the settlement.
