What were the role of colonies in France and New France?

A

Colonists in France were sent to New France to set up colonies there and provide France with natural resources like fur. These resources were transported to France where they were processed and turned into goods. All goods were then sold on European markets. All gold accumulated by the sale of the goods were returned to France. France then acquired precious metals. Processed resources were sent to New France from France so they could live.
