Q

what is difference in primary influenzal pneumonia and secondary bacterial pneumonia?

A

primary influenzal pneumonia = usually seen in pandemic years when it’s a new virus that we don’t have existing responses to →high mortality in young people

secondary bacterial pneumonia = common in elderly, pre-existing disease and the secondary infection of flu takes them out
