How does the compressor work in the turbofan engine
A
The compressor, uses a series of spinning blades with each set becoming smaller which adds more energy to speed up and compress the air. Inbetween the sets of spinning blades are stators which again increase the pressure of the air by creating static pressure.

How does a turbojet engine work
A
Energy is added into the air by the compressors, the burners heat the air. The air has alot of thermal energy which is extracted by the turbine which spins the compressor and the rest converted into kinetic energy to create thrust.
