It had a poor agricultural quality that did not suit farming most of them had to found work in Windhoek, Okahandja, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, Otavi and Tsumeb.

They were divided into several tribes, which had its own chief, but they ruled by one monarch, King justice llgaroëb.

He could sell his things to him.
What happened to a woman’s property if she died?
It would be inherited by her children,mother or other distant matrilineal relatives.
By what was the Ovambos ruled?
Kings that the people thought had the ability to bring rain. Would be overthrown if they did not bring rain or if they did not respect the people.
