Who is Charles Darwin?
A British naturalist born in 1809. He was known for his famous work “ On the Origin of Species.”
How did Darwin change the way of life?
Through his amazing ideas of evolution and natural selection.
What is Darwin’s theory?
The millions of species present today evolved slowly of a billions of years from the common ancestor.
What did the natural selection emphasize?
The individuals the best adapted to the habitat passed on these traits to their offspring.
What does evolution explain?
It explains why animals and plants are so good at surviving in the environments, the places where they live.
What does evolution mean?
It means that a species change over time and can even split into two new species
When was the theory of evolution developed?
Back in 1859
What does natural selection mean?
Natural selection that some individuals in a species are better at surviving than others and will have more children
What is hominids?
It is a kind of slang term among scientists. It means mankind and anything that looks and acts like mankind.
What is fossils?
Fossils are remains of living things that have been turned into stone or have left an impression in the stone. Anything that man has made is not a fossil.
What is artifacts?
It is the remains of things that were made not remains of living things.
What do we use rock paintings for?
To see how they live to see what was important to them and to see the symbolic thought they had.
What are hunter gatherers?
It refers to how a group of people get their food. They find it growing wild or hunt and fish for it. They do not grow any food.
How did the early humans live?
They were hunter gatherers they hunted animals, gathered plants for food move to a new location when food run, out depend on natural environment for shelter and left in caves and shelters made of rocks, branches and animal skins.
How did they live including just the people?
They lived in small bands of about 30 people.
Group size reflected how many people could live off food in the region.
Main hunted and women gathered nuts, berries and care for children.
