the 29ft RBS II is made of
3/16 inch 5086 marine grade aluminum
where is the “House battery” located
directly below the DC distribution panel on the inside of the port console.
where is the fuel tank located
mounted between frames 6 and 9
what is the fuel tank constructed from
1/4 inch thick aluminum
how many cleats are on board the RBS
Six 10 inch aluminum standard cleats
how many lifting eyes are on the RBS
Four lifting eyes are provided, two below the anchor locker and two on the aft gunwales.
what are the lifting eyes rated to
The lifting eyes are bolted to the structure and are each rated at 4,255 lbs
where are the trailer tie downs located.
bow eye, welded pocket fittings on the hull approximately amidships, welded eyes located port and starboard on the engine well transom.
how many blue strobe lights are on the RBS
2 blue lights
whats the highest fixed point?
the searchlight is the highest fixed point to increase overhead clearance and facilitate C-130 loading.
operating weight of each engine?
The operating weight of each engine is approximately 600 (starboard/standard) and 606 (port/counter) lbs.
where are water tight compartments
watertight welded compartment from Frame 3 to the main transom aft of Frame 9.
air tight compartments?
Two pressure tested, airtight compartments are located forward between Frame 3 and the bow, and aft at the engine well compartment which is welded behind the main transom.
RBS hull type
Deep-V monohull with a pointed bow and flat transom.
how thick is the deck of the RBS
1/4 inch
where are the lifting strakes?
The lower strake runs from frame 1 to just aft of frame 6, and the upper strake runs from near the bow eye to the main transom.
what is the purpose of the lifting strakes?
to improve sea keeping, directional stability, and planing performance.
where is The PG500R heading sensor
The PG500R heading sensor is mounted on a bracket inside the chart table
DFF1 DepthFinder
The DFF1 depth sounder transducer mounted aft of the fuel tank on the starboard side, and it sends information to the MFD12, Paired with the SS60 model transducer, the DFF1 has eight range scales to 2,500 feet
batteries
three identical dual purpose marine batteries, each with a cold cranking amp rating (CCA) of 750 amps and a reserve capacity (RC) of 120 minutes.
what is connected directly to the port battery
Bilge pump 2, carbon monoxide (CO) detector, and window sump pump breakers still connected directly to the port battery.`
diesel heater
The diesel fuel tank serving the heater system is located in the compartment behind the access door on the starboard side of the cuddy cabin, below the heater, and it has a capacity of 3.3 gallons.
Where is the high water in the bilge and carbon monoxide (CO) alarm indicators ?
Both alarm indicators are located on the inboard side of the starboard console, in the passageway between the main cabin and cuddy cabin
CO Alarm
If CO is detected, the detector’s visible ALARM LED indicator light will flash red and its horn will sound a four beep pattern. The green LED will remain on during an alarm condition.
Bildge pumps
2 bilge pumps are installed in the aft bilge, located to port and starboard of the keel near the transom. The starboard pump, designated BILGE PUMP 1, is located slightly further aft and is powered by the starboard engine battery. The port pump, designated BILGE PUMP 2, is located slightly further forward and is powered by the port engine battery.
What has to be on in order for the bildge pump float switch to work
With the circuit breaker on and the toggle switch in the AUTO (down) position, power is routed through the float switch to the pump. If the float switch rises due to high water, the pump will automatically be energized.
Bildge pump discharge
all pumps discharge into the engine well. On the port side, there are two thru-hull fittings; the aft fitting is for the port bilge pump, and the forward fitting is for the window sump pump.Check valves are installed in each discharge line to prevent back flow. The thru-hull fittings are accessible through the port and starboard aft deck lockers.
window sump pump
13 GPM pump submersible bilge pump and a float switch located aft in the bilge near the transom on the port side of the keel, receives and discharges water that drains from each of the six opening window frames.
has its own toggle switch.
Offset of the transducer
