What is the 1st Amendment?
Freedom of Religion, Press, speech, petition, and Assembly
What is the 2nd Amendment?
(Right to bear arms). Allows citizens to keep and bear weapons for self-defense.
What is the 3rd Amendment?
(Quartering of Soldiers). No soldier/person will be quartered in any house without the consent of the owner.
What is the 4th Amendment?
(Unreasonable Searches and Seizures). Protects against unreasonable searches and seizures.
What is the 5th Amendment?
(Protects against self-incrimination), guarantees that an individual cannot be compelled to provide incriminating evidence about themselves.
What is the 6th Amendment?
(right to a speedy trial). Gives criminal defendants the right to a lawyer, an impartial jury, and a trial without unnecessary delays.
What is the 7th Amendment?
(Right to trial by jury in civil lawsuits). Ensures that civil cases(lawsuits) are heard and decided by juries. It also inhibits courts from overturning a jury’s findings of facts.
What is the 8th Amendment?
Protects from Cruel and unusual punishments
What is the 9th Amendment?
(Unenumerated Powers). All rights NOT enumerated (given) to the government belongs to the people.
What is the 10th Amendment?
(Reserved Powers). The federal government has only the powers given to them by the constitution, If it isn’t given to the government, it’s reserved for the states or people.

What is the 14th Amendment?
(Equal Protection and Citizenship Rights) Gives all citizens with equal protection. No state can abridge privileges or immunities of US citizens. Nor deprive of life, liberty, property without due process of law. Applied to African Americans after Civil War
What is the 15th Amendment?
(Right to vote) Forbids government or state from abridging a citizen’s right to vote on account of race, color, etc.
