Cost effective because you’re not calling, allows for short efficient communication, mobile/desktop messages can sync, and is private.
What are the disadvantages of messaging software?
Not all users use the same system, and there are security issues where harmful users can exploit vulnerabilities.
What is SMS?
Short message service; messages sent through cellular/satellite networks that do not support multimedia.
What are the advantages of SMS?
Can be sent any time day/night and saves time.
What are the limitations of SMS?
Short messages only; people don’t like unnecessary messages, so permission is needed.
What is email used for?
To distribute info in the body as an attachment/link.
What are the advantages of email?
Can be sent to many people at once, is instantaneous, sent cheaply, and leaves a written record.
What are the disadvantages of email?
People can ignore emails if they go to junk/spam folder, requires internet, and wrong info can lead to leaks.
How can businesses use social networking/media?
For communication with current/potential customers and for marketing trends.
What are the benefits of social networking/media for businesses?
Customer feedback improves reputation/ranking, and customer engagement leads to more sales.
What are the drawbacks of social networking/media?
Requires a clear marketing strategy, can get hacked, and needs daily monitoring.
What is VOIP?
Voice over Internet Protocol; telephone calls over internet/LAN.
What are the advantages of VOIP?
Info shared quickly, good voice quality if internet is good, targeted calls, and less expensive than traditional phone lines.
