What is a product lifecycle?
The five stages a fashion usually goes through from when it is first designed until it is finally from the market
What happens in the design introduction stage?
A new exclusive style is created and displayed on the catwalk. Made from high-quality materials and custom fitted, very expensive and worn by celebrities
What happens in the evolution stage?
Style becomes popular, is seen in the media and becomes more widely available but remains high price
What happens in the growth and maturity stage?
The style is adapted manufactured more cheaply and appears on the high street. Depending on its popularity it may last for a season or many years
What happens in the decline stage?
The style becomes less popular. Stock is sold off at a reduced price
What happens in the replacement stage?
The outdated style is no longer available
