The see through layer at the front of the eye
What is the role of the Iris?
They contract or relax to alter the size of the pupil
What is the Iris?
Muscles surrounding the Pupil
What does the retina contain?
Cone and Rod cells
What are rod cells most sensitive to and what are they better for?
.More sensitive to light
.Better for seeing in low light
What type of vision to cone cells allow?
Colour vision
Whats the problem with the lens if you are short sighted?
The lens is too curved, so distant objects appear blurry
What is the problem with the lens if you are Long sighted?
The lens is too flat so it cannot refract light enough
What does cataract mean?
Clouding of the lens of the eye
What does a cataract restrict?
Vision
How can cataracts be treated?
Replacing the lens of the eye in surgery
What do people lack if they are colour blind?
Cone cells in their retina
How can Long Sightedness be treated?
Replacing the lens with an artificial one
How can short sightedness be solved?
Laser Eye surgery-reduce the thickness of the cornea
