Behavior of RCB Chilled Water and CCW CIVs
RCFC CHILLED WATER CONTAINMENT ISOLATION VALVES
Normal Open/Close features. In Auto valves close on SI & LOOP.
RCFC CCW CONTAINMENT ISOLATION VALVES
Normal Open/Close features except that valves won’t open unless Chilled Water valves are closed. In Auto, CCW valves open on an SI, but remain closed on a LOOP.
B Train valves have power lockout function due to location in RCB vulnerable to being underwater post-accident

Normal Pump Configuration
One pump per chiller is normal.
Balanced for 2 pump operation with 2 trains of RCFCs in service
A pump in AUTO will start if running pump trips.
- Too many RCFCs lined up for pumps running could cause runout*
- Too few chillers could lift relief*
