Q

What organ uses all three kinds of tissue?

What does each tissue do in it?

A

The stomach
Muscle tissue- churns stomach content

Q

In the leaf, what do the tissues do?

A

Epidermal tissue - covers the plant
Mesophyll - (palisade and spongy) responsible for most of the photosynthesis
Xylem - transports water and minerals
Phloem - transports other substances

Q

Why is the digestive system so important?

A

Food must be changed from insoluble to soluble molecules. Only then can the soluble molecules be absorbed into the blood

Q

What does the digestive system include and what are each parts role?

A

Glands (pancreas and salivary) which produce digestive juices
Stomach and small intestine is where digestion occurs
Small intestine also the place where the absorption of soluble food occurs
Liver produces bile
Large intestine is where water is absorbed from undigested food, producing faeces.
