Narrow-spectrum. It is active against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa

A
It prevents DNA synthesis and therefore is bactericidal

A
Anaerobic infections such as oral infections, h.pylori or rosacea

Metronidazole dose and label
A
400mg/500mg TDS
Should be taken with or after food.
Alcohol cannot be consumed with this

A
Gastrointestinal disturbances
Metallic taste, oral mucositis and furry tongue
