A
Prevents protein synthesis so is bacterostatic

A
Clindamycin is active against anaerobes and gram positive cocci (streptococci, MRSA)

A
Treats MRSA infections and bone and joint infections caused by staphylococci

Clindamycin side effects
A
Most likely causes colitis (severe, prolonged or bloody diarrhoea). Patients must STOP the antibiotic if this is observed
