What does ideological attractiveness mean?
building ideas of the world from things that attract us/based on our needs - these can be satisfied or frustrated

What does it mean that personality is latent?
within us - can’t be seen until acted upon
When is authoritarian ideology appealing? (needs)
when psychological needs are met when eg obeying a father figure (bowing up while kicking down)

2000 white American men, non-fascist, middle-class
(not minority groups)
What does anti-semitism mean?
hostility towards Jews
(semitism = being jewish)
Some characteristics of anti-semitic people:
hostile to jews
negative opinions to jews
How were ethnocentric people towards minority groups?
anti-minorities and black
patriotic
What did people have an attachment to and what were they resistant to?
things as they are
resistant to social change
