1st EdPuzzle on Histograms and Frequency Table Flashcards
Frequency tables and Histograms are part of:
Descriptive Statistics (Statistics that are used to organize and summarize the information so that the researcher can see what happened during the research study and can also communicate the results to others)
What is the range?
the values that are being tallied
What is a sample?
In statistical terms, a set of individuals selected from a population; is intended to be representative of its population, and should always be identified in terms of the population from which it was selected.
How to find the percentage?
add the total of people in the frequency then divide each tallied frequency by the total to get your number; the total decimals added should equal about 100%
What is the frequency?
The total tally marks in each value that is found
A histogram is
a graphic version of a frequency distribution; It helps to display the shape of a distribution; The graph consists of bars of equal width drawn adjacent to each other and has both a horizontal axis and a vertical axis
What goes on the x axis for a histogram
the values, s labeled with what the data represents
What goes on the y axis for a histogram
the frequency; the vertical axis is labeled either frequency or relative frequency (or percent frequency or probability)
