Some ethnic groups are more segregated whilst others are more integrated, this is driven by exclusion by the majority white por pre-existing tensions between cultures.

Seggregation in SA where African Americans are concentrated in one part of the population e.g. Chiacgo is primarily African American.

Ethnic minorities move into a place and 35-50% of white people panic leadeing to “white flight”, this is known as founded segregation.

African American chooes to move in wanting a mixed community, so white people stop buying houses in that area and as African Americans they then want to mvoe into that area.

When new immigrants in a city move to dominate or take over neighbourhoods that were previously occupied by older migrants.
