14---Monday---Stone Dusting Cook SOP41 Flashcards
What is the amount of stonedust applied during Mining operations during development drivage?
Stone dust application through the trickle duster during mining is established at a minimum of 1 tonne per 100mts of development drivage
While cutting coal during mining what applies stonedust in the returns
A trickle duster shall operate continually at the return side of the Auxiliary fan to treat the coal dust in the immediate return airway
How often is dust applied to the newly developed roadway after mining, and to what percentage?
Mined excavations shall be treated by application of stonedust to the ribs, roof and floor to ensure the content of incombustible shall be greater than 85%.
Stonedust shall be applied to newly mined excavations on each 24hr cycle as a minimum and also if 50mtrs of drivage has been attained during that 24hr period
The ERZ Controller shall record on his report the roadways which have been stonedusted during his shift and the amount of stonedust applied.
How often is dust applied to the newly developed roadway after miningin secondary extraction?
During Secondary extraction (sumping) Stonedusting shall be carried out at the completion of each sump.
Where and how often are stonedust samples taken in a development roadway?
If the sample fails when is it resampled?
Weekly samples:
Spot samples of roadway dust shall be taken weekly in each roadway within 200 metres out bye of the last completed line of cut throughs in the panel.
Such samples shall be analysed to ensure an incombustible content of 85%
If such sample does not meet the required standard for incombustible content, then the relevant area shall be retreated with stonedust within 12 hours of such notification.
Where and how often are stonedust samples taken from all zones containing operational conveyors
If the sample fails when is it resampled?
Three Monthly samples
Strip samples of roadway dust shall be taken Three monthly from all zones containing operational conveyors
Such samples shall be analysed to ensure an incombustible content of 70% for conveyor roadways.
If such sample does not meet the required standard for incombustible content, then the relevant area shall be retreated with stonedust within 7 days of such notification.
list the sizes of spot sampling when taking a sample.
A spot sample shall consist of collecting a sample of roadway dust into a container by brushing a spot no smaller than 100mm x 100mm and no greater than 150mm x 150mm.
In the case of roof or ribs the sample shall be taken to a depth not exceeding 5 millimetres.
Detail how we take and where development dust samples are taken?
Weekly panel samples
Weekly panel samples shall consist of one spot sample taken each 5 metres at varying places of ribs, floor or structures within such roadway so as to be representative of that roadway.
Each roadway shall be sampled within 200 metres of the last completed line of cut throughs.
Detail how we take and where OTHER dust samples are taken? This excludes longwalls
Other samples
Other samples shall consist of spot samples taken each 5 metres at varying places of ribs, floor or structures within such roadways over the distance designated by the survey department in each zone to be sampled.
