- touch
- proprioception

How can the somatosensory system be divided?
A
It can be divided into 2 sub-categories
- low threshold mechanoreceptors mediated: tactical sensation (touch) and proprioception
- high threshold mechanoreceptors mediated: temperature sensation, pain and itch
