-Organised crime closely linked to corruption in government
-Fast Transport from one country to another
-Lack of attention
Why is global crime difficult for sociologists to research?

-Requires secondary stats not always available
-Primary research would be dangerous, dealing with most potful and onerous people in world
-Doesn’t impact most peoples daily lives
What is a major cause of international crime?
Global inequality
What does operating transnationally reduce and increase?
Reduces risk and increases profit. global crime tends to centre in countries with weaker law enforcement.
How has detteritorialisation aided crime?
Crime networks can cut across national boundaries. Moving from one country to another has never been easier.
