11 Flight Management, Navigation Flashcards
The FMC will provide navigation guidance and map display between ___ North and ___ South latitudes.
87° North and 87° South
Regarding the IRS, magnetic heading and track are not available in polar regions. Magnetic reference is provided between?
N73° and S60° latitude
IRS alignment requires approximately?
10 minutes
During high latitude IRS alignment it will take a minimum of?
17 minutes
Fast IRS realignment takes approximately?
30 seconds
A full alignment must be accomplished when the time from the last full alignment
exceeds?
18 hours
If alignment is lost in flight, the navigation mode is inoperative for the remainder of the flight.
In flight realignment for attitude information takes approximately?
30 seconds
Standby power to the right IRS is limited to?
5 minutes
FMC position updates from navigation sensor positions follow this priority: (8)
- One LOC and GPS (tuned for approach)
- One LOC and collocated DME (tuned for approach)
- One LOC and VOR with a collocated DME (tuned for approach)
- LOC (tuned for approach)
- GPS
- Two DME stations
- One VOR with a collocated DME
- IRS.
VNAV is normally engaged at thrust reduction height. Pitch guidance then commands the most restrictive of the following:
- An airspeed increase to 250 knots, or
- An airspeed five knots below the placard speed for the current flap setting, or
- The speed transition associated with the origin airport, or
- The takeoff target airspeed (between V2 + 15 and V2 + 25 knots) if the acceleration altitude entered on TAKEOFF REF page 2/2 has not been
reached.
