11. Complete denture manufacturing Flashcards
Flasking: plaster surrounds cast base up to?
border of the baseplate
How long does the flask have to be in the press?
45 mins
How do we remove the plaster when flasking?
90 degree water for 10 min
What are the denture resin packing technqiues? (4)
- Traditional.
- Ivoclar.
- Inkovac system.
- Microbase system.
Traditional resin packing? (3)
- compaction packing
- polymerixation by wet external heat
- flask in press so excess resin can flowout
Traditional resin packing: flask is placed..?
in processing machine with clamp
Traditional resin packing: time? (2)
8 hour at 71 degrees
30 mins at 100 degrees
Ivoclar resin packing? (4)
- continuous injection
- low heat and 6atmosphere constant pressure
- special flask with connectig device for piston
- acrylic = capsules
Ivoclar resin packing: timing? (3)
• 5 min after injection, clamp is put into hot water
bath.
• 35 min at 90oC.
• 20 min cooling down
Inkovac resin packing system (3)
- Resin injection and suction.
- Tends to move denture teeth out of place.
- Problems with occlusion.
Microbase resin packing system? (3)
- Resin injection.
- Polymerization by microwaves.
- Less contraction (3%).
Contraction with ivoclar resin packing system?
6%
Contraction with traditional resin packing system?
14%
Deflasking: how is the flask removed from clamp?
with a mallet
Deflasking: what happens to the plaster? (3)
- cast usually breaks
- plaster removed
- denture separated ffrom cast
