11. Airconditioning Flashcards
What is the silencer plenum and what sensor is located here?
A mixing chamber where hot bleed air meets ram air.
Temp sensor that controls DUCT OVERHEAT light is located here.
What air temperature in the silencer plenum will trigger the DUCT OVERHEAT light?
300deg F
When should Aircon QUICK. COOL. position.be used?
intended.for. ground.operation.when power.is being.supplied. from.an.external source.or both generators
What position will motorized hot air valve move to if DC is lost?
Will remain in current position.
What variables does AUTO heating mode detect changes in to maintain temperature selected on knob?
OAT, cabin temperature, duct temperature.
If mode selector switch remains at MANUAL, what will happen to position of hot air valve on shutdown?
Position will not change. This avoids having to set flight to flight.
What happens to the aircon if a generator should trip off line with POWER switch on FLIGHT?
A circuit is armed in the generator control system that prevents operation unless both generators are online. This provides automatic load shedding.
What can happen if ram air duct is closed, and/or vent fan is off?
Hot bleed air will stagnate in the silencer plenum, possibly resulting in a DUCT OVERHEAT.
Heated air to the flight compartment may be increased by?
Closing the cabin air control valve.
Motive force for heating system is supplied by?
Ram air motive flow.
