Q

Describe the Brachial Plexus

A

5 Roots; 3 Trunks; 6 Divisions; 3 Cords; 5 Branches

23
Q

what are the 5 roots of the brachial plexus?

A

C5-T1

24
Q

what are the 3 trunks of the brachial plexus

A

the Upper, Middle, and Lower

25
Q

What are the branches off the upper trunk of the brachial plexus?

A

The suprascapular above, and the subclavius below

26
Q

The 6 divisions of the brachial plexus

A

Anterior/Posterior from upper trunks; Anterior and posterior from middle trunk; the Anterior/Posterior of the Lower trunks

27
Q

the 3 cords of the brachial plexus

A

Lateral; Posterior; Medial

28
Q

what is the branch off the lateral cord of the brachial plexus?

A

the Lateral pectoral

29
Q

what are the three branches off the posterior cord of the brachial plexus

A

Upper, middle, lower subscaapular

30
Q

What are the three branches of the medial cord?

A

Medial pectoral; Medial cutaneous n. of arm; Medial cutaneous n. of forearm

31
Q

What are the 5 branches of the brachial plexus

A

Musculocutaneous; Median; Axillary; Radial; Ulner.

32
Q

Draw the brachial plexus

A
33
Q

THE HIGHER THE LESION…

A

THE MORE MORE PROXIMAL THE DERMITOME/MYOTOME

34
Q

The full table of Dermatomes, Myatomes, and nerves for the brachial plexus.

A
35
Q

The great Neurological levels lecture….

A
36
Q

What does every somite level have?

A

a spinal cord segment

that is associated with a vetebral cord segment

that is associated with a Spinal nerve element that gives us: dermatome and myotome component for the dorsal ramus (back) and a dermatomr and myatome component for the ventral ramus. (body wall and limbs)

37
Q

where do the spinal roots fuse and make the trunk?

A

not until they exit the vetebral foramen
