Contras:
Under 28 days old (neonate)
Allergy
Cautions:
Acute withdrawal
Aggression
What is the max amount that can go up the nose?
1mL
Why do you need to account for dead space when administering nasal narcan?
Because some will get stuck in end (0.1mL)
What is an intrinsic injury?
It is when their is damage to the inside of the vasculature
What is an extrinsic injury?
It is when there is trauma to extrauacular cells (lacerations, bruises)
What does Kaolin do?
Kaolin activates factor 12 (xii) of the coagulation cascade
What does TXA do?
TXA prevents fibrinolysis or the breakdown of the fibrin clot
Where is wound packing for?
Is is for junctional areas
