Station Dormitory Accommodations
- TFD will furnish bedspreads and blankets for station personnel.
- Station Captains shall use regular supply request procedures to obtain replacement bedspreads and blankets from the Fire Garage warehouse supply technician.
- For sanitary reasons, TFD shall not furnish pillows.
- TFD station personnel shall provide their own pillow(s), a top and bottom sheet and/or a sleeping bag as bedding.
- TFD personnel using sheets must use a top and bottom sheet, pillowcases and desired blanket(s) over the top of the TFD issued bedspread on his/her assigned bed between 2000 and 0700 hours.
- TFD personnel using a sleeping bag for bedding shall roll it out over the top of the TFD issued bedspread on his/her assigned bed between 2000 and 0700 hours.
a. Sleeping bag must be clean and in good repair - TFD personnel shall:
a. Remove all bedding except the TFD issued bedspread between the hours of 0800 and 2000
b. Remove the TFD issued bedspread when rising in the morning and replace it with a clean TFD bedspread
c. Store bedding in station lockers and/or personal lockers between the hours of 0800 and 2000 hours
d. Fold TFD issued blankets and bedspreads individually and neatly store them in station lockers when not in use - Oncoming shift personnel shall launder and store bedspreads from the previous day.
- All beds shall be covered at all times with at least the TFD issued bedspread
a. Bedspreads shall be centered and smooth on the bed with bottom corners folded under - TFD personnel shall not at any time sleep directly on a mattress without first covering it with the TFD issued bedspread and personal sheets or sleeping bag as a sanitary barrier.
- TFD issued blankets or bedspreads shall not be used in any portion of the station other than the dormitory.

Cleaning Schedules
- TFD issued bedspreads shall be laundered daily in TFD washing machines/dryers.
- TFD issued blankets shall be laundered quarterly in TFD washing machines/dryers.
a. Industrial washing machines at Stations 4, 8 and 9 may be used for large loads - Mattresses shall be aired at least monthly by placing the mattress on edge with both sleeping surfaces exposed for a minimum of 8 hours.
- Station Captains shall ensure:
a. Bedspreads are laundered daily
b. Blankets are cleaned quarterly according to schedule
c. Mattresses are aired on a monthly basis
d. “Community pillows” are removed and not used in his/her station.
