1. Being aware of and carrying out the duties set forth in this document
2. Ensuring all subordinates under his/her s upervision comply with all orders, rules, regulations, practices and procedures of the department
3. Promptly reporting any flagrant viola tions or dereliction of duty through the chain of command
4. Understanding that failure to meet these responsibilities could be cause for disciplinary action

a. Understand that s/he is expected to provide leadership and solve problems at his/her level whenever possible
b. Lead by example; displaying the desired behavior/conduct expected of those in his/her chain of command
c. Abide by the rules of conduct set forth in TFD Policy 1002
d. Require subordinates under his/he r command to comply with all orders, rules, regulations, pract ices and procedures of the department
e. Promptly report any flagrant viola tion and/or dereliction of duty up through the chain of command
f. Be fair and consistent in dea lings with his/her subordinates
g. Ensure that good order and prope r discipline are maintained
h. Schedule work duties for personnel under his/her command or supervision
i. Assume responsibility for the overall cleanliness and security of his/her assigned station/work area.
j. Report maintenance issues related to his/her station and/or work area in a timely manner.
k. Be a good steward of public funds and department resources
