10.0 Configure OpTime Security Flashcards
Access to OpTime tools, functionality, and reports can be controlled using what security classes?
- Procedural classes
2. OpTime security classes
Which type of security class the system uses depends on… What?
The location where a patient’s case is scheduled.
Locations with a Location Type of Invasive Cardiology look to which security classes?
Procedural security classes.
Locations with a Location Type of Surgical look to which security classes?
OpTime security classes.
The user’s current login department does not determine the security class used. What is determines the security class?
The location of the patient’s case.
General Procedural security classes contains security points for access to procedural functionality, such as… What?

- Viewing and editing a log
- Editing case tracking events
- Scheduling and assigning resources.
- a user’s ability to create, edit and save public and private application reports.
OpTime System Security Class grants… What?
- System‐wide access to OpTime functionality.
- Ability to edit and/or save OpTime application reports, like the Status Board, Snapboard, and Depot. As its name implies, the OpTime System security class grants a user access to perform tasks across the whole system. A user can have only one of these.

Security classes listed on the OpTime form in the User (EMP) record only affect users when?
When users are working with cases scheduled in surgical locations (not Invasive Cardiology locations).
When working with cases in a surgical location, users can only be affected by one OpTime System security class and one OpTime Location security class at any given time. How does the system use these two security classes?
A user’s OpTime security will be the combination of the OpTime System security class with one OpTime Location security class.
True or false: Only one OpTime Location security class can affect a user at any given time.
True.
Why do two OpTime security classes allow for build efficiency?
Since the system security class controls access to general OpTime functionality, we use just a few and assign them to large groups of users. The location security class contains more specific security points that can be assigned to smaller groups of users.
How are OpTime Security Tables structured?
User/User Template (EMP) contains:
- One Procedural Security Class (ECL)
- Many OpTime System Security Classes (ECL)
