10-18a Knee ROM & MMT Lab Flashcards
What musculoskeletal landmarks can be palpated on the knee?
lateral femoral epicondyle medial femoral epicondyle adductor tubercle tibial tuberosity head of fibula tibial plateaus medial collateral ligament lateral collateral ligament medial/lateral joint line greater trochanter lateral malleolus
where does the patella attach?
tibial tuberosity
what is the pes sanserine
Sartorius gracillis semitendinosus
what is lateral to the patella?
what attaches there?
Gerdy’s tubercle
where IT band attaches
what is medial and lateral to the apex of the patella?
med and lat epicondyles
where is the adductor tubercle?
just superior to the medial epicondyle?
Where are the tibial plateaus?
joint line
where is the LCL?
lateral to the tibial plateau and inferior to the fibular head
where is the LCL?
lateral to the tibial plateau and inferior to the fibular head
Where is the MCL?
medial to the joint line and is a broader ligament
thickening of medial epicondyle and a few cm down on the tibia
what do you assess for patellar extension?
superior translatoin
what do you assess for patellar flexion?
inferior translation
What are landmarks for knee ROM
lat malleolus and greater trochanter
What are the heads of the quad
vastus medialis, vastus lateralis, rectus femoris
what are the heads of the hamstrings?
medial is semitendinosus (superficial) and lateral and behind is semimembranosus (medial meniscus)
